Hi, I’m Tasia. I’m a queer Registered Social Worker (MSW, RSW), and I’m so glad you’re here.

I wanted to begin by sharing a little about who I am, how I work, and what matters to me.

I support people navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, depression, gender identity exploration, coming out, suicidal thoughts, substance use, and life transitions. Much of my career has been rooted in community mental health, crisis intervention, concurrent disorders, and suicide prevention work.

Before private practice, I worked in crisis services and community-based mental health settings, supporting people through some of the most intense and vulnerable moments of their lives. I’ve also facilitated suicide intervention trainings and community support groups. These experiences have deeply shaped how I understand safety, resilience, and the complexity of being human. I see people as whole beings shaped by their experiences, relationships, identities, and the systems they live within.

My approach is trauma-informed, queer-affirmative, and feminist. This means:

  • I recognize how common trauma is and how it can live in the body and nervous system.

  • I understand the impact of systemic inequality, capitalism, minority stress, and intersectionality on mental health.

  • I work from a non-pathologizing perspective, your responses make sense in the context of what you’ve lived through.

  • I believe therapy should feel collaborative and egalitarian, not hierarchical.

You are the expert on your life. My role is to walk alongside you, offer tools, and help you make sense of what feels overwhelming. Choice and consent are central to our work together. Everything we do in session moves at your pace.

Some of the approaches I draw from include:

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) - A structured, evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process distressing memories so they feel less overwhelming in the present.

Somatic Therapy - Body-based practices that help regulate the nervous system and gently release stored stress and trauma.

Mindfulness - Learning to notice thoughts, emotions, and sensations without judgment so you can respond rather than react.

Attachment-Based Therapy - Exploring how early relationships shape how we connect, trust, and protect ourselves in adulthood.

Feminist Therapy - Understanding how systems of power, gender, and culture shape our experiences and strengthening agency and choice.

Harm Reduction - Meeting you where you are, without requiring abstinence or change before you’re ready. We focus on safety, dignity, and autonomy.

As a queer person and a therapist, I know how powerful it can be to feel truly seen and to not have to overexplain, correct, or minimize yourself and your experiences. I practice from a lens that actively affirms and celebrates queer identities. I am committed to creating a space where you can simply show up. I also believe that many of the struggles’ people carry are not individual failures. They are often responses to harm, oppression, loss, or disconnection.

Therapy, to me, is about making sense of your story. It’s about building a life that feels more grounded, intentional, and aligned with who you are. Taking the first step can feel daunting. You deserve a space where all of you is welcome and seen. I’m honored to do this work, and I’m honored to meet the parts that make up who you are.
